Role of Graffiti
Graffiti is the words, colors, and shapes drawn or scratched on buildings, overpasses, train cars, desks, and other surfaces. The term graffiti comes from the Greek word graphein, which means, "to write." Graffiti today ranges from simple, one-color monikers (like a nickname), called "tags", repeated on many surfaces to complex compositions of several colors. Lets analyze how is used this form of nonverbal communication in four differents Latin-American countries: Colombia, Honduras, Argentina and Brazil.

In colombia, problems and situations that the media ignore and which they turn away, they are exposed to light by graffiti. It exists to make public the hidden matters, so that everyone can access it and learn about the different opinions and viewpoints that are woven into the center of an effective democracy that sometimes seems to vanish in the creation of "threads "leaders, favoritism and manipulative.
However, in the Argentinian capital of Buenos Aires, graffiti is being elevated to a new level, turning the streets into an open air art gallery, people accept it and think that it gives light to the city. Artists also represent political and social stamens critics in their creations.

On the contrary, in the case of Tegucigalpa, Honduras graffiti artists work is illegal, dangerous and seen as vandalism, this place is considered one of the world's deadliest cities. They also use it as a protest form to critize politicians and corruption. They certainly believe that can fight the intolerance and violence with art.
Another country where is graffiti is seen as art expression is Brazil, graffittis can now be found in cities all over the world. In Rio de Janeiro, the street art is omnipresent, it exists in all corners of the city from the favela to upper class neighborhoods, from residential to institutional. Vitché whose work is featured in “The World Atlas of Street Art and Graffiti,” began making street art he was protesting the destruction of nature in favor of big cities. Now their art is influenced by the political climate and corruption in Brazil.

Comparing those countries with Northern África, its possible to see that exist a conection between them because they use these forms of verbal and non-verbal communication (In the case of Northern África using blogs) to trasmit and to persuade society about the problems like corruption, political problems and poverty in order to fight against these troubling issues.

Bangkok's Mexican Gangsters
Cultural appropriation is the adoption of ideas, symbols, artifacts, image, sound, objects, forms or styles from other cultures, from art history, from popular culture or other aspects of human made visual or non visual culture; Nowadays, this practice is very common and good example for it is “Mexican gangsters”, a new tendency appeared in Bangkok , it is a brotherhood of style-conscious men who bond over baggy white shirts and gothic-baroque tattoos, they imitate the style of Mexican criminals or "Gangsters"
Young Thai men have adopted the hairstyle, the way of dressing, the using of tattoos and the hip-hop attitude of the Mexican gangs.
Despite of it is a normal and nonviolent trend due to Thai gangsters are professionals, they have normal lives, and they like to do this because they can enjoy with their friends, it can be percieved as a negative practice and people could reject them because Mexicans (the original culture) are criminals that rob, kill and are drug dealers.
I learned about the video that when a group of people is going to follow some kind of subculture, they should have depth knowledge of what they are going to follow because in some cases for example in this, they dont know the real background. However, I consider that each person has the right of follow whatever they want and dress as they feel confortable and people must treat them respectfully and accept that everyone has their own way to think and while they dont hurt anybody or do bad things there is no problem with that and we should respect them.

Racism against AfroColombians

Nowadays racism has continued to disadvantage the Afro-Colombian population, as evidenced by economic disparities, a large educational performance gap, and under-representation in politics. Its a very sad and dissapointing situation because they deserve equal rights and opportunities as everyone else. The fact that most of them live in poverty, cant go to college and are not respected by their fellows is unnaceptable.

It is important to remember that Colombia is a multicultural country because of the mixture of races that integrates it and there is no reason to discriminate others because of their color skin. AfroColombians form an important part of the country, notable Afro-Colombians include scientists like Raul Cuero, writers like Manuel Zapata Olivella and politicians: Piedad Córdoba, Paula Marcela Moreno Zapata, and Luis Gilberto Murillo, Miss Colombia 2001 winner and fashion model Vanessa Alexandra Mendoza Bustos, first Olympic gold medal winner for the country Maria Isabel Urrutia, etc.

We cannot ignore that these people are our brothers and sisters and we share a common history. We should accept them completely as part of our society like every other ethnic group and recognize them as men and women just like us, with the same responsabilities and human rights.
